Post Op Day 1, body

Close-up of a person after eye surgery
Moments after the bandage is removed. Unfiltered. Capturing the journey in more detail the second time around.

Movement is a mindset.

dad

For the next week(s), i am committed to world-class couch potato. Even better than i was the first time around.

Continental Divide mindset

Mountain
When i randomly picked today’s photo, wasn’t sure if it was me, Stacy, or Steve. Turns out it’s Jungle Jeff heading to Bishops Cap. Pollock Mountain (9,200’) in the background.

Let the space you’re in dominate your workout.

dad

Thank you Lunch Creek, Pollock Mountain and Bishops Cap.

My favorite gym is Nature.

Eye regression

19-second video: Wanted to capture, in the moment, precisely what i was experiencing 30 minutes after “the dark, painless burst”.

Never panic, especially when you start to feel panicked.

dad

Wanted to capture, in the moment, precisely what i was experiencing 30 minutes after “the dark, painless burst”.

As we watched Episode 11, of Ted Lasso season three, without any warning, a dark circle appeared in the lower left eye.

No pain. No warning. But definitely a heart-sinking moment.

Note: The video, from tired and uncertain jeff, missed a contextual point: With lights, and eyes open the circle is black. With lights out, and eyes shut, the circle “glows” like an Angler Fish.

Cherish when things take a sudden turn for the best.

Called Dr. Kumar’s office this morning.

Why?

Dr. Kumar wanted to see me in two weeks and said i could call to come in earlier if my sight got worse.

But…

He didn’t say anything about what to do if things got better, faster.

Things are going better than expected.

So i called.

Moved the two-week appointment ahead by five days.

Why?

Because Dr. Kumar is going to like what he sees when he examines my retina.
