Turn frustration into opportunity

Landscape home
In my mind, the landscaper has this one.
Home landscaping
Need to clarify whether he uses a ladder when necessary. And even if no, tell me so when i see an obvious and overlooked shrub, i don’t do it myself.

Turn frustration into opportunity.

Yes.

With no curtains on most of our windows, nature is glorious to look at all day long. Noticed an overburdened split-leaf philodendron that’s been climbing a palm tree for 15 years maybe. It wasn’t trimmed two weeks ago.

At high noon, in the heat of the day, grabbed a ladder and in the shade of the palms, delighted in being outside on a working break.

Being in the garden is an easy way to toss the world’s cares aside for awhile.

In college, get outside often. Even when you don’t feel like it. It’s great medicine.

How Much Is Enough? Uncategorized

B12

B12 blood work results
In acceptable levels, yet we are working to increase the level…before it has a chance to dip below acceptable.

Seven personal health vibrancy pillars:

  1. Aerobic
  2. Anaerobic
  3. Nutrition
  4. Rest
  5. Flexibility
  6. Core
  7. Motivation

Which do you pick as the number one priority?

PS. Part of nutrition is annual blood work to see what can’t be visibly seen.

Besides Diet & Exercise

Surprised to learn vitamin D was low

Walgreens receipt
Love the mundane beauty of a simple, ordinary receipt and moment in time (yesterday). Purchased a bottle of Vitamin B12 and one of vitamin D3.

Rode bike to Dr. Patel’s office to review bloodwork and CT scan results.

Overall, great results.

Vitamin D and B12 are low.

Dr. Patel recommended D3 2000 IU and B12 1000mg.

Buzz Worthy?

Do you get giddy for your blood work results?

quest diagnostics portal
2018 is missing because it’s been two weeks since the blood draw…have been waiting so anxiously and was concerned the bloodwork report got messed up or lost.

Do you get giddy for your blood work results?

Probably a no for most of us – at least for me for the past decade – ever rising cholesterol.

Is it possible to reverse our yearly results-anxiety?

Yes, for example…

Concerned enough to try better habits over the past couple years.

These assorted eating habit changes led to a dramatically different cholesterol report last year.

Dramatic.

Shocking.

Inspiring.

Total cholesterol under 200 and LDL under 130 for the first time in at least a decade.

Factors:

  • eliminate sugar
  • dramatically increase fresh fruit intake
  • eliminate fast food
  • drastically reduced processed food intake
  • virtually eliminate protein bars (was eating four a day)
  • dramatically increase super-food intake (avocados, certain berries and nuts)

Yesterday’s results yielded highest HDL (71) ever and lowest LDL (102) ever.
