What's Our Obligation?

Great comeback week

Glacier Red Bus Tour
Zooming out from previous photo. Context for location and customer experience.

Great comeback week.

Three 80+ minute workouts this week.

All three included 15 minutes of cool down stretching.

While remaining flexible over the years, flexibility has received the least amount of focus in recent years.

Like the three little pigs, there are four layers:

  1. Inflexible
  2. Barely flexible
  3. Moderately flexible
  4. Excellently flexible

Additional analogies…

Poverty, lower class, middle class, upper class.

Clueless, beginner, moderate, expert.

Covid-19.

Our preparation and tolerance for the unexpected is being revealed as we speak.

Congrats on earning an A+.

Wisdom what?

We are gonna miss Sam, the self-walking dog.

Wisdom what?

Four wisdom teeth.

Removed yesterday by noon.

At 19, he got it done based on professional recommendation.

Oddly, i still have all four wisdom teeth.

Skipped yesterday’s scheduled workout to accommodate for dental appointment.

Looking forward to this morning’s makeup session.

The real wisdom in this post is the daily, personal example of being a noticer (student) one day and a teacher the next, until it gets so blurred that you one day focus and realize – you are both, all day everyday.

Greater than kindness?

Fall hiking in Glacier
Hiking through Glacier National Park as a 60-year old is something i take for granted because i never see 60 as a thing that limits people, but people tell me i’m wrong.

How well do you practice kindness?

There is no greater wisdom than kindness.

Or is there?

What about physical health as the greatest wisdom?

Maybe decent physical health is the greatest wisdom we can practice.

So many people benefit from a person’s physical wellbeing. Obviously the healthy person, but also the potential care giver(s) and financial resources that are protected from healthcare services.

Don’t listen to what i say

Harvard and Disney Business schools. Photo: London Gatwick airport yesterday.

Don’t listen to what i say, watch what i do.

Don’t believe, nor trust, a business guru (like Harvard Business School, Disney Institute, or me) who doesn’t speak about and insist on balanced excellence.

If you neglect your health in pursuit of wealth (or anything) this (chronic) neglect is a sure sign you are not pursuing excellence.

Health is wealth. – Grammy Felegy (mom’s grandmother, your great great mother)

Son, balance, in the early years is a pendulum, moving back and forth (or in and out) until you gain enough experience where it has far less sway and almost constant consistency.

As i finish my sixth decade today, my balance between mind, body, spirit, money, and hq is extraordinarily consistent compared to all the other decades.

Impossible Is For Amateurs

Our thinking can be no wiser than our experiences

Over Easy Cafe Sanibel
Biked to breakfast yesterday.

Biking on Sanibel Island
Biking back to the beach cottage.

Richest Man in Babylon
Came highly recommended. Checking it out before gifting it to an 18-year old.

Your thinking can be no wiser than your experiences.

Once you have distanced yourself from your childhood vibrancy, you know,  after years of adolescence, young adulthood and possibly even longer, you might be compelled to regain that vibrancy.

It may take you a year or more, but you eventually regain a decent vibrancy.

This feels amazing.

And then life strikes again.

And like a bad dream, you fall off the horse and never get back on.

i hope i’m wrong.
