B12

B12 blood work results
In acceptable levels, yet we are working to increase the level…before it has a chance to dip below acceptable.

Seven personal health vibrancy pillars:

  1. Aerobic
  2. Anaerobic
  3. Nutrition
  4. Rest
  5. Flexibility
  6. Core
  7. Motivation

Which do you pick as the number one priority?

PS. Part of nutrition is annual blood work to see what can’t be visibly seen.

Do it will before you need to

vitamins
Got these yesterday at grocery store. It will be a few weeks before the current bottles empty. Plan ahead.

The time to “worry” about things is before you have to.

Your health.

Doing things now that won’t pay off for 10, 20, 30, 40, or even 50 years from now is not at the top of anyone’s to-do list today.

What if it was?

It will take weeks for the current vitamin bottles to empty.

Got the replacement bottles yesterday.

Didn’t need to.

And therein lies a great habit.

Surprised to learn vitamin D was low

Walgreens receipt
Love the mundane beauty of a simple, ordinary receipt and moment in time (yesterday). Purchased a bottle of Vitamin B12 and one of vitamin D3.

Rode bike to Dr. Patel’s office to review bloodwork and CT scan results.

Overall, great results.

Vitamin D and B12 are low.

Dr. Patel recommended D3 2000 IU and B12 1000mg.

Common Sense Is Elusive

Vitamin Basics

Yeah, But It Sure Tastes Good...
Yeah, But It Sure Tastes Good...

Vitamins, minerals, supplements, fiber, protein, carbohydrates, fats, and the list goes on and on. No wonder we struggle to sort through to the basic, common sense health strategy that will work for us.

We can worry about this some other time, say when the phone rings, “Hello, this is your wake-up call. You’ve neglected your health all your life and now you have to pay the price. Have a nice day”.

Gaining Weight or Losing Weight

Gaining weight or losing weight.  These two topics seem to occupy our human obsessions more than just about anything.

Why?  Because it’s so challenging, with all the media, to feel comfortable with our bodies.

Maybe the media is right.  Maybe we are deficient in some way.  Want to know how I can tell if I need to gain weight or lose weight?

I simply ask myself, “How do you feel today”?

This past week I gained four pounds.  I can just feel it.  It feels different. Not different in a good way.  Different in a challenging way. At least there’s one thing to be really thankful for this past week.

I was listening to my body.  Were you?
