Here we go again

Magic Kingdom entertainment guide
Upper left date stamp: Jan 1-5, 2019. Rode bike 10+ miles roundtrip yesterday (Jan 1), including a stop at the gym.

Here we go again.

What?

New Year’s Facebook posts.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda.

Working on week 11 of “i-quit-sugar”.

New Year’s Day (yesterday) is nothing more than a light-switch-effect moment for humans who haven’t figured out the key to personal transformation.

People think come January 1, they will magically have what it takes to begin a new habit.

i know this because of a lifetime of personal experience.

There ain’t no light-switch-effect you get to summon.

Here’s a hint (because i’ve recently revealed the #1 ingredient), motivation is #2.

Update (today, March 2): “i quit sugar” is now 19 weeks strong. Why? Guessing because it’s really important to me.

You guys have really impressed me

2018 flu vaccine
Yesterday at Publix grocery store. A “free” flu shot plus a $10 Publix gift card.

Four-strain (dead) cocktail. Taking care of yourself often means we have to do things that aren’t convenient.

In my absence, you still get up and jog every Monday through Friday.

This is huge.

Self-initiative.

Focus.

Thank you.

Risk taking is key to transformational change

Risk taking is key to transformational change.

Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to run Boston faced a tough challenge – she wasn’t invited, she wasn’t welcomed, and some wanted her out, immediately.

What Kathrine did became a catalyst for what five years later was a transformational change in the Boston Marathon’s policy of “men only”.

Kathrine’s courage, and continued advocacy, eventually led to including a women’s marathon race in the Olympic Games.

Anyone planning for physical readjustments in 2018?

Cozumel beach
We can walk away from our less than desirable habits if we want to. It will take every fiber in our being, but it can be done.

Will we be more physically active in 2018?

Will it be a significantly measurable difference?

And how will this difference positively influence our years ahead?
