Of course it is challenging

Rob Watson, my technology advisor, joined me in Glacier for a few days in 2019.

How would your health benefit, transform even, if you spent a few months walking (hiking) at high altitude?

Is another Summer (2020) in Glacier National Park possible?

Would i go there to work the entire Summer? What about half work and half personal time? What about all personal?

The past few days as i cancelled some reservations and booked some others, these questions are top of mind.

Leaning to mostly personal time.

Why?

Because it is opposite what i did this year.

How would my health respond?

You are transforming before his eyes

Mrs Incredible
You are Mrs. Incredible. And this Summer we will summit Mt. Oberlin for a Family portrait.

You are transforming before his eyes.

He notices even if he doesn’t say anything.

It might even feel miraculous and inspiring for him.

It does for me.

Embrace difference, don’t fear difference

Embrace difference, don’t fear difference.

While i’m focused on physical health here, using “different” in any aspect of your life is something to be embraced.

What does different mean and why is it feared by many, and why does it matter to embrace different?

Here’s what i think…

i quit drinking December 31, 2001. Only two other close friends have since 2001 (one in 2017, one 5 years ago ).

i quit a sedentary lifestyle, and began regular, consistent exercise on April 15, 2001.

In 1999, i quit working shift work and began sleeping at night, every night, and became a morning person after leaving Disney Resort Hotel Operations to join Disney Institute (DI).

i quit sugar 11 weeks ago, October 31, 2018.

i quit being afraid to speak in public in early 1999 after joining DI to become a speaker – that which i feared, i became.

All of the above have transformed daily living.

It’s better.

Much better.

Thank you, different.

Prepare for the best of your life

Vulture
Vulture found the dead snake in our yard yesterday afternoon. Thank goodness for scavengers. Thank goodness to the ability to make wise choices.

i promise if you start flossing your teeth, start going to bed at a consistent bedtime, start getting regular and vigorous exercise, and begin making mindful food choices and use modest portion sizes, your wildest dreams will come true.

Taking control of your destiny in one area of your life (in this case, physical) begets taking control in other areas.

Is it worth the discomfort of changing?

Is it worth the discomfort of changing?

To move from being intentional most of the time to being intentional all of the time.

Is it worth it?

Why would any of us deny ourselves the freedom to choose?

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.
