Much longer in the gym

CDC email subscription form
Did not solicit this but once solicited, it seemed prudent to subscribe.

Spending much longer in the gym the past two visits. Kinda as if i’m retired or something. Like i have no where to be.

Weird.

Not alarmed by it. Not elated either. It’s the same workout as normal, just at a slower pace. Perhaps it’s getting back in the groove after a month of sporadic travel workouts.

Traveled to Oregon, Disneyland, and Maryland.

Last time for everything

Last time i sat here and paused to count my blessings.

Last time for everything is a music video by Brad Paisley.

It’s also a long list for most people:

  • Last time i exercised
  • Last time i ate ice cream
  • Last time i touched my toes without knees bent
  • Last time i slept well, for a year straight
  • Last time i walked everywhere
  • Last time i flossed
  • Last time i did 10 pull ups in a row
  • Last time i could comfortably wear my high school clothes
  • Last time i rode a bicycle to the grocery store
  • Last time i started the day without writing five daily blogs

Stuff adds up quick, don’t it?

Day

Hiking 11 miles roundtrip on Grinnell Glacier trail was a decision that only took a moment to make. The hike took all day. The joy we get from this day radiates still.

Here’s a train of thought for the new decade that begins in three days:

  • Moment
  • Hour
  • Day
  • Week
  • Month
  • Quarter
  • Year
  • Decade
  • Life

If Disney Ran Your Life, you learn to instinctively over-focus on the same things you used to under-focus on or ignore.

You learn to be intentional where you used to be unintentional.

The power that a decision we make in a day has the power to grow and influence by the week.

72-hour challenge

Yesterday, met Cheryl at work so we could ride together to Epcot last night. Took this photo of the 2001 photo in her office. i began a consistent workout habit this same year.

Three days later, wrist is improving.

Ice, heat, ibuprofen, and a wrist brace.

Straightforward.

Common sense.

Amazing what can happen in three days.

Remarkable what can happen in nearly two decades using common sense.

Will i return to running soon?

Will you?
