The temptation to make exceptions

Orlando palm trees
Yesterday biking to the dentist.

Will it last?

The honeymoon effect.

Will it be achievable for a lifetime?

i quit sugar one month ago.

Thanksgiving is tomorrow.

We are driving to Sanibel Island today.

Vacation.

Holidays.

The temptation to make exceptions.

PS. Exceptions sound benign compared to excuses. In reality, they are the same.

Go bold or go home

i quit sugar
i quit sugar and will place a bead in the bead jar for every consecutive week/weekend i abstain. Yesterday bead #2 went in the jar.

Go bold or go home.

There’s nothing wrong with settling.

Except.

Except for the whining from people about how hard it is to get by.

Any idea how difficult this is?

Note to self: Go big or go home. And stop complaining how much sugar has a hold on you.

Sometimes it was both days

inspirational quote
Yes. Shedding alcohol and caffeine was hard, like literally impossible. Yet the freedom is glorious. Sugar is next.

Made it through the weekend without sugar.

This is a milestone.

For the past year i’ve allowed myself one weekend day as a dessert-day.

Sometimes it was both days.

Sometimes, like the recent Goucher College visit, it was dessert every day, including multiple desserts in one day, every day.

i quit sugar, October 2018

inspirational quote
Yes. Being free from the pull of alcohol and caffeine is insanely freeing. Sugar is next.

Peyton Manning’s recent Orlando keynote speech contained two hidden gems that he credits for his remarkable success.

  1. Aggressive discipline
  2. Relentless preparation

The article was reaped from a Google Alert i sowed years ago for Orlando Keynote Speakers.

The will to succeed has to be greater than the excuses you conceive

JOMO
The JOMO on sugar. Pure cane joy.

The will to succeed has to be greater than the excuses you conceive.

What would happen if i never ate another dessert in my life?

Possibly the same thing that has happened since i made a commitment to never drink alcohol again.

Those Take 5 candy bars are moving from a tempting and wonderfully sweet treat to the devil in disguise.

Sugar is the enemy like alcohol is the enemy.
