Progress requires motivation after the honeymoon phase

Aim was six minutes or faster.

Progress requires motivation after the honeymoon phase. “Get healthy” honeymoons last a few weeks to a few months. This applies to exercise routines too.

Yesterday ran nine miles, including a four-mile warmup with the fourth mile at seven minutes flat. Aimed for seven flat, delivered seven exactly.

Walked mile five and then began another four mile workout, photo above.

Aim for the first mile in the second set was six minutes flat, or faster.

At 800 meters, was a bit behind at 3:08.

Second 800 was 2:59.

Will take 6:07.

That second 800 really felt amazing.

Find a million ways to stay motivated.

One mile time trial was actually 6:02.

Running began April 1999 after a wake up call – a bad cholesterol blood work report. The good HDL cholesterol was in the danger zone. Doctor said exercise would fix it.

To gauge progress and challenge myself, about once a month a one mile time trial is run. Yesterday’s aim was to break six minutes flat. Missed it by two seconds.

Thanks to Patty Hebert for letting me know that Mid Life Celebration’s five main blogs were running slower than dial-up.

Remember. How. Slow. Dial. Up. Was?

The 30 minute run was sacrificed for a 30-minute call to GoDaddy. So lucky to encounter Abby, a young and rising GoDaddy star.

In less than two hours, before arriving at the airport even, everything (90 domains) was migrated from shared hosting to web hosting.

Back to Usain Bolt fast.

Life’s first two big choices covered for today, now the third big choice gets it’s shot here.

The other day jeff noel was at Dr. Phillips High School, at the Bill Spoon Stadium, running 400 meter intervals, in preparation for the 2009 Master’s Track & Field World Championships, in Finland.

I’ve found the harder I work, the luckier I get. Carpe diem, jeff noel 🙂
