Embrace the simplicity of rigor

Snow at Logan Pass
The mashup of color is a gift to witness.

Embrace the simplicity of rigor.

You know how to do it.

You’ve been doing it all your life.

Cards, grades, gaming.

Apply it to physical wellness and have fun with it, even the parts that at times will not seem like fun.

Those times will pass.

You will be tempted to quit.

There is huge victory in failing to quit.

The habit is over-taking me

jeff noel Disney speaker
Training is generally step by step. Development is insatiably situational. You can develop others simply by telling them your stories – why you do what you do and how you’ve changed and grown in the process.

The habit is over-taking me.

And i couldn’t be happier.

Eating well, especially since i quit sugar on Halloween 2018, is energizing me in an unexpected way.

It’s helping me see that what i thought was impossible isn’t nearly as challenging once you rewire the habit.

Now the mind is auto-programmed; “Why would i ever want to put sugar into my engine.”

i knew dessert was potentially a temptation

Disney Keynote Speakers
Last night, back at my old stomping grounds.

Fourth trip to Disney in the past week. Last night to our Flagship Disney Resort.

Met up with a High School buddy and his wife for dinner at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa Citricos restaurant.

My wife met Rene and Cheryl two years ago at our 40th High School reunion in Pennsylvania, but our son was meeting them for the first time.

He did a great job indulging his attention on four people old enough to be his grandparents.

The meal was superb.

There was only one no sugar dessert.

i would have easily skipped dessert, but the ambiance and the company inspired me to partake.

The “i quit sugar” lifestyle change finishes week 11 tomorrow. Grateful for a no-sugar option.

We’ll be back to normal in three weeks

people walking in the morning
Saw 9 people walking yesterday, January 3. This is nine more than i usually see on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings.

We’ll be back to normal in three weeks.

Somewhere around January 21, 2019, the four-mile roundtrip walks to and from the gym will be like they were in 2018.

 Just me.

No other walkers.

No one creates a life on what they’re gonna do.

The temptation to make exceptions

Orlando palm trees
Yesterday biking to the dentist.

Will it last?

The honeymoon effect.

Will it be achievable for a lifetime?

i quit sugar one month ago.

Thanksgiving is tomorrow.

We are driving to Sanibel Island today.

Vacation.

Holidays.

The temptation to make exceptions.

PS. Exceptions sound benign compared to excuses. In reality, they are the same.
