Brand you

Hey, what’s a bicycle doing in motorcycle parking?
Who rides their bicycle to Walt Disney World?

Local Meetup group has asked me to speak for 30-45 minutes in two weeks. Here’s what i’m thinking…

Title: If Disney Ran Your Life: The Remarkable Power of One

  • What is your personal brand?
  • Are you satisfied?
  • Do you get to do more than you have to do?
  • Have you heard of personal vibrancy?
  • Should you take care of yourself first?
  • Looking for simple, world-class, time-tested insight?
  • Ready to rethink, reprioritize, and recommit?
  • If not today, when? If not ever, why?

Kinda have “If Disney Ran Your Life” on the brain.

Why?

The official season launches in 3.5 weeks (January 25, 2020).

Things that require zero talent…

inspirational list
We’ve all seen lists like this before.

Walking.

Stretching.

Going to bed at a decent time.

Avoiding the snack aisle.

Spending more time in the produce aisle.

Drinking more water.

Drinking less sugary things.

Flossing.

Turning off the TV.

Managing social media.

Creating a clear, concise, and compelling reason to get and stay healthy for a lifetime.

When was the last time you developed yourself?

When was the last time you developed yourself?

Remind me again how i know if i developed myself?

  • You did something you’ve never done before.
  • You were entirely out of your comfort zone.
  • You made and pursued a lofty goal, and in succeeding or failing, you grew.
  • You had a surprising, delightful epiphany about your abilities.
  • You make being out of your comfort zone your new comfort zone.

Got it?

PS. You didn’t read a manual, you didn’t attend a class, and you didn’t follow your normal routine.

Revolving my schedule around this small Summer opportunity

Two former Disney Institute Facilitators
Bob and i began exercising together in 1999. Photo: Four days ago at Disney University.

Revolving my schedule around this small Summer opportunity.

In an hour (at 6:40am) we’ll drive to the High School for our fourth Runner’s Club workout.

Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7am.

The club is made up mostly of Middle and High School Cross Country runners.

And there’s one dad that also participates, as well as a college-bound freshman who graduated a few weeks ago.

Changing Doctor appointments, business meetings and anything else that will conflict with this new Summer commitment.

While it’s a small endeavor, it could become life altering.

Photo above: Those two started out exercising together in 1999, it was only three weeks before one’s schedule threw him a curve. It’s been 17 years and counting for the other.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Imagine running three consecutive PR’s in one practice

Children statues
This would be easy to miss or ignore. But remember being a child flying a kite for the first time? That’s hard to ignore.

Imagine running three consecutive PR’s in one practice.

He did that last night as we did 400 meter intervals.

On our final cool-down lap, i planted the seed that one day these PR (personal records) would become a warmup lap time. Something he can’t fathom now.

But i see it clearly and convincingly.
