Music inspires us all. Rascal Flatts’ Unstoppable must have been an anthem to many Winter Olympic athletes.

This video also inspired me. It still does.

That’s the funny thing about inspiration. It’s like a fire. You have to keep it going, or it’ll go out.

Then he went to College. And found out he had been a very small fish in a very big pond, more like the ocean.

He abandoned that childhood dream to become an Olympian.

And got distracted, and medicated, with College life.

Many readers are not familiar with what happened in 2009. This jeff noel blog was still in relative infancy.

But in 2009, my impossible goal was about to become reality.

What started out as the infamous, one-mailbox-a-day for a week wellness challenge, had morphed into the pursuit of a long lost childhood dream.

Masters World Championships 2011

Will never forget trading my 2009 Team USA jersey with a Finnish runner, at his request…it was an incredible ‘Olympic spirit moment’…

Rarely held on American soil, the 2011 Masters Track & Field World Championships will be held July 6-17, 2011 in Sacramento, California.

I will probably not be there.

Too much, too soon.

Or, maybe a whole new way to approach world class performance.

We’ll have to wait and see.

National Championships in 2011

Missed it last year too…

The 2011 Master’s Track & Field Indoor National Championships will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, March 4-6.

I will not be there.

Of course, this is a trivial issue for all of you. In fact, I’d go as far as saying, unless you’re my Mother, you don’t care.

That’s okay, we can still be friends. But let this “disappointment” be another one of many, in the quest for an impossible goal.
