Remembering why i move

senior olympian
Alfred is 100 years old in this 2009 photo. He competed at the 2009 Masters Track & Field World Championships in Lahti, Finland. So did i, at half Alfred’s age. Perhaps i will enjoy another opportunity some day.

Remembering why i move.

Here’s why?

An object in motion tends to stay in motion.

An object at rest tends to stay at rest.

You will do what’s sensible

Praying you believe in yourself, and you find what you need.

Waiting and doing nothing is a common option. Tried them both. Doesn’t work.

One wish for you this year

If i could wish you one thing this year, it would be that no one could say anything to make you doubt yourself. And that no matter where you are in your wellness journey you will find the hunger you need.

You know what you’re doing?

Mountains
Mt Cannon right foreground. Clements Mountain (middle-left side-profile). Mt Jackson, one of six 10,000′ mountains, upper left.

You know what you’re doing?

Right?

You know the “I don’t have time or energy (in my life) to start exercising” narrative that busy people lean on?

What if we didn’t lean on it?

Because bottomline, you *have* to know what you’re doing to yourself by not taking care of yourself.

You have to know.

Right?

Yesterday’s boredom

Disney toys on a rock
Changes what you see, eh?

You handled yesterday’s boredom well.

Love how you took what was happening (boredom with routine) and channeled it into something that didn’t feel like work.

This is how you find a million ways to stay motivated….be willing to flex when it is appropriate. It is almost always appropriate.

Note: This is me talking to me.
