Best advice for what to do when you don’t want to do it

Universal Studios thrill ride
Yesterday afternoon running past Universal Studios.

Best advice for what to do when you don’t want to do it?

Get creative.

You need a reason to trick yourself into just getting started.

Why?

Because once you start, you will quickly begin to feel better.

It’s overcoming the initial inertia that seems daunting.

So i rationalized…

i’ll run to my dentist because i owed them a phone call. Afterwards, i experimented with running through Universal Studios.

From not running to 7.5 miles.

Magic?

Yes.

PS. Was at Gold’s Gym Orlando when i began the run, just a mile down the road from Universal Studios.

Why Setting The Bar Low Is Crucial

Being in control doesn't guarantee we'll take control.

Over and over in my life, what works the best (always) is when I set out to make slow, deliberate, consistent improvements. There is truth to the fable of the tortoise and the hare.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Few have patience for this.

Without patience, I am doomed.
