A book of jeff noel’s Disney insights?

Funny sign on a door
It’s so challenging (read nearly impossible) to get back to the date of a photo used in the mobile WordPress admin blogging function. This photo is an insight, but not a jeff noel Disney insight. 😳🥳

What about a book of jeff noel’s Disney insights?

Funny saying about healthy people
From the halls of Cedar Crest College in Allentown Pennsylvania two days ago. A harsh reality?

This morning’s Leadership Keynote speech is a 50-minute executive overview featuring:

  • 1 harsh reality
  • 1 astonishing paradox
  • 4 world-class leadership basics
  • 72-hour challenge

1, 1, 4, 72

Imagine if you had someone on the inside – for a lifetime – and they were able to deconstruct Disney’s success secrets in a clear, concise and compelling summary, would you want access?

The harsh reality is no one builds a reputation on what they’re gonna do.

The astonishing paradox is we know the basics of a balanced approach to employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and business operational excellence.

But we forget.

Four world-class leadership basics: Vision, Involvement, Accountability, Commitment.

A clear, concise, and compelling vision.

Involving employees by moving from compliance through training, to commitment through development.

Accountability that has clarity and agreement.

Commitment means thriving in a culture that is never satisfied.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

An author must exercise and challenge and have fun

Walt Disney quote about large Florida land purchase
Walt was asked, What are you going to do in Florida?

Exercise is not just physical. Exercise can be mental. We know this. Here you go then…

Four things a book manuscript submission process can teach a person

Clarity • Simplicity • Focus • Execution

The book deal promises 100 days from manuscript submittal, a copy is in your hand.

You get one sentence (20 words max) to describe what your book is about.

Can we summarize our life’s work or our future vision in one sentence?

Have we ever tried? This brings us back to clarity, simplicity, focus, and shipping (doing what you say you are going to do).

All done with generosity and authenticity.

Supplement your happiness with LSD?

poster of strategies and tactics
benchmarking is about discovering “why”, not the how or the what

(look past diary-like entries, and ask why does he keep saying and doing these things?)

Supplement our happiness with LSD? Yes, Long Slow Distance. After missing five running days (two planned, three unplanned), got a five-miler in this morning.

Long, slow, distance. Nice and easy. A good 45 minutes of continuous running. The focus is:

  • not quitting
  • building strong cardiovascular base
  • maintaining core strength
  • getting back to 15 minutes daily stretching each evening
  • running some really good times this Spring and Summer

This month jeff noel is encouraging Mid Life Celebration readers to follow all five daily blogs about work life balance. It’s a breeze to go from this physical health blog to the spiritual health blog, just click -> go to Next Blog

Do you understand your health and wellness motives?

follow your passions
follow your passions

Just this morning a fellow blogger shared an email that this health and wellness blog post motivated her to not quit. When you get up early and have the choice between exercising or putting it off (and getting one day closer to quitting), don’t.

The key wellness tip is to find a million ways to stay motivated because getting motivated to start is the tip of the exercise iceberg. Staying motivated is the rest of it.
