Is downhill terminal?

Is downhill terminal?

What do you mean downhill?

In a word, decline.

At 60, i’m qualified to speak about this.

Downhill can feel like it’s terminal, and it will for all of us, until we change our mind and turnaround – to go back uphill.

Go.

Note: This is a lifetime commitment – in either direction – and it’s critical to remember that the direction lasts forever.

Sadly, this is the path they can’t see in front of them

Orlando Cross Country regionals 1A
Yesterday, October 29, 2016 – Orlando Cross Country Regionals 1A.

Orlando Cross Country Trophy
Winning Districts one week ago wasn’t enough to earn a team (or individual) award yesterday.

Sadly, this is the path they (High Schoolers) can’t see in front of them. Important to note, when we were High Schoolers, we didn’t see this path either.

To exercise and run with literally wild abandon and joy.

Sure, the boys did well and the girls even better (qualified for States with their team finish), but what happens after leaving high school is so predictable.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

What would happen if you stopped?

What would happen if you stopped?

You would become another member of the vast, sedentary herd.

The movement, your movement, keeps you on an active, vibrant path.

Totally understandable is totally wrong

(photo: Had every intention of morning walks, but they never happened)

So tempting to take a day off. And then another. And if we’re really busy, a whole week off seems justifiable.

And the eighth day, if we remain really busy (and who doesn’t), seems easily justifiable too.

Deadly.

All too soon we are no longer exercising.

Totally understandable.

Totally unacceptable.

Go!
