Why do we choose to exercise?

swimming pool fill to the brim
The automatic water level re-fill control isn’t working so the water level was low enough that i had to manually refill about three inches to be safe. About eight inches later, i realized my forgetfulness.

Why do we choose to exercise?

Doesn’t matter why.

What matters is that we choose.

Having and not having are equal?

Feynman quote
Yes and, do you expect to be healthy, because i expect you to be healthy.

Is not wanting something as satisfying as having it?

Not wanting it is like having it.

For example, chocolate. Having no desire for chocolate is satisfying. Eating chocolate also satisfies. The desire is quenched either way.

Satisfying.

No?

Except maybe, for example, not wanting personally vibrant health.

The will to succeed has to be greater than the excuses you conceive

JOMO
The JOMO on sugar. Pure cane joy.

The will to succeed has to be greater than the excuses you conceive.

What would happen if i never ate another dessert in my life?

Possibly the same thing that has happened since i made a commitment to never drink alcohol again.

Those Take 5 candy bars are moving from a tempting and wonderfully sweet treat to the devil in disguise.

Sugar is the enemy like alcohol is the enemy.

The long way is the shortcut.

Just finished shuffling through five mailboxes.

First with Cheryl at 515am.

Then again with Chapin at 615am.

Three weeks ago we did back-to-back weeks at three mailboxes.

Why?

Because we aren’t in a hurry.

This morning’s “run” was the equivalent of one and a quarter laps around a high school track.

Ridiculously slow progress.

Couldn’t be happier.

You only get today once

Disney Innovation speaker
Brochure in our stateroom.

You only get today once.

How’d you sleep last night, and when are you planning to climb into bed tonight?

Today, what are you planning to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner (and snacks)?

Today, will you do anything that raises your heart rate (and deepens your breathing) for 20-30 minutes?

Today, will you do anything that requires your strength – also raising your heart rate and deepening your breathing?

Today, will you stretch your large muscle groups?

Today, will you move in ways that challenge your core?

Today, are you motivated to do the six things above or are you planning to skip today because tomorrow seems like you’ll be better situated to do them?
