Keep that fire burning.
Before the modern world, fire kept most primitive people alive.
While we are no longer primitive, a roaring fire of motivation will keep our vision alive.
Is there anything more important than a will to make a contribution?
Start with yourself.
Become physically fit. Maintain and improve this over your lifetime – now there’s a vision of the future that’s not only better than now, but much better.

We have to start our own fire.
And then find a million ways to keep it lit.
Our excuses, long term, are invalid.
Motivation is fascinating, don’t you think? It’s like a fire, isn’t it? We must continue to add fuel to a fire to keep it burning.
It seems that we have a daily (if not hourly) choice to stay focused on what keeps our fire alive.
Are there more than three version of this?
- Let the fire go out
- Add just enough to keep the fire from going out
- Keep the fire raging
Do you know your blood pressure? And do you know your resting heart rate? How often do you check? Do you know how and why you have the numbers you do?
Also known as a no-brainer, putting it off and being afraid to know are not good. I check it virtually every time I’m in a Wal-Mart or Publix Grocery Store, for free, at one of those testing stations.
What would happen to your results if you walked five days each week, fitting in 15-30 minutes (or more) each time? And what would happen if you did that for five years in a row?
Last night’s results at Wal-Mart:
Most people have had so little experience in the wilderness, that making a campfire is foreign to them. And making a campfire is more involved than it seems.
As a Boy Scout and then again in Outward Bound, we were taught to prepare the wood as if we only had only one match left. If you didn’t prepare properly, and the one match you had went out…
Just throw it in the microwave. Or, order delivery. Or maybe, stop by on the way home for take-out.
Well, it’s like that for our health too.
It may not seem so, but most really don’t have much experience being successful in building healthy habits.
Hey, I’m not making this up. Look around. There’s your validation.
It’s epidemic. And we have the opportunity to resolve to be part of the minority – the healthy minority.
And if we can get enough of the minority to change, we can start a movement to become the healthy majority.
Who doesn’t want that for their children, their nieces and nephews?
