Do you have eating goals?

Jeff Noel common sense diagram
Action. Three catalysts.

Common sense tells us intuitively that this plate is better for us than a McDonald’s burger, fries, and Diet Coke. Assume the meal pictured here had water or almond milk as the beverage.

Action. Three catalysts.

Vibrancy has three catalysts for action.

  1. Common sense
  2. Questions
  3. Paradox

Thinking leads to choices.

Choices lead to action.

Action leads to habits.

A simple question supports common sense, “True or false, we are creatures of habit?”

“What would happen if we had better habits?”

What is the paradox of our unintentional eating habits being driven by convenience, taste, and a busy schedule?

The paradox’s other end is having intentional eating habits driven by nutritional balance, essential vitamins and minerals, proteins, fiber, and preplanning.

Eating too much

Stumbled upon this older photo yesterday. It caught my eye knowing tomorrow is Thanksgiving.

Eating too much on Thanksgiving day has long been an American tradition.

A bountiful harvest.

A ton of gratitude.

Coming together to celebrate.

Nothing wrong with this except one thought.

Why do we eat to the point of discomfort?

Having done this for decades, i’m now in a place where it fascinates me as i avoid doing it at all costs.

Totally impressed with your discovery

Yesterday. College mascot and mother and son.

Totally impressed with your discovery about smaller portion sizes and slower eating.

You have everything you need to live vibrantly.

Self-discovery is powerful.

Congrats on your powerful discovery and victory.

Everything we need and want is on the other side of self-reflection.

Bonus isight: One way we get what we need or want is when we finally realize we do not need or want something that we originally thought we couldn’t live without, or when we discover what we need or want is different and more attainable than we originally envisioned.

Eating light because it was unplanned

Heading to the #1 tourist attraction.

Not sure how long we’ll stay so we hired a taxi driver on a per hour basis.

Our first stop of the day yesterday. The closer we got the bigger it got.

Eating light because it was unplanned.

The TEDxAUK speakers met at 6pm last night in the lobby. Mistakenly thought it was a one-hour meet and greet. It was a four-hour “rehearsal” and meet and greet.

It was wonderful. Inspiring.

Mind…blown.

The hunger from eating light is rarely felt because of America’s abundance and tendency for over-indulgence.

Feeling just hungry enough can be a great metaphor for being hungry enough to expend the focus and discipline required for a lifetime of healthy living.

If your eating habits were public, how would you feel?

If your eating habits were public, how would you feel?

The time to improve your eating habits is before you have to.
