Love to change?

Lunch time, with a view.
Mountain View from cafe
Zooming through the window a bit. Feeding our bodies and our spirits. My seven-year old self is impressed and inspired.

What is your relationship with discomfort?

Love to change?

Or, love to grow?

Grow requires, demands, change.

Shunning discomfort is shunning growth.

Loving discomfort is loving growth.

Glad we cleared that up.

Physical road trip

Biking on a mountain road
Continental Divide. All uphill.

A road trip is a state change.

You go from doing things you normally do in a familiar place, to doing things you don’t normally do in an unfamiliar place.

Why?

Because change is stimulating.

Flexible to take unplanned rest

Exercise, nutrition, and rest is about wellbeing, not waistlines.

Flexible to take unplanned rest.

What?

Today is a bicycle day.

It is raining, and has been raining all day.

Rather than feel unaccomplished, leaning into discomfort is allowing the surrender to the weather.

Like the stock market, don’t panic on a down day.

Update 5pm: Rain stopped about 3pm. A late-day rally. Got an easy 10-mile bike ride in before dinner.

Excellent workout

Goofy dressed in blue
Goofy looks like he wants to know more.

Inspired by today’s early departure and by the karma of radically different approaches, today’s workout was a first.

The beauty in the change was simply taking a three-round grouping of exercise sets and grouping them differently than ever before.

Bottomline, the entire workout was covered, but in a refreshingly new and challenging way.

Morning delight

sidewalk and wall next to highway
The first homeless person has moved on. Meanwhile, seized an opportunity to do something for the first time since returning from Glacier; walk on narrow ledges where falling would hurt you, potentially badly.

Living with the regret from never trying is worse than trying and failing.

Heat and sun exposure drive early morning runs, biking and walking.

Not writing in the morning will make heading out early easier to do.
