Celebrate your vibrancy

The more you genuinely care for your employees, the more they genuinely care for your customers. Common sense, rarely common practice. What’s it like working at Disney? Depends on who your leader is. Why? Because their ability to genuinely care feeds your answer, “What’s it like to work at Disney?”

Note: In the absence of a caring leader, you lean heavily on your peers and customers. You adapt and find “extra” joy and appreciation from them to compensate until your current leader gets promoted or transfers.

The Walt Disney Legacy Award

The Walt Disney Legacy Award.

  • Dream.
  • Create.
  • Inspire.

Recipients of this Walt Disney Lifetime Achievement Award embody the three traits that Walt Disney himself embodied.

Recipients are selected without the selection team’s ever knowing the Cast Member’s name. The only criteria the selection team can use are the behaviors demonstrated through the specific examples written in the nomination forms by the nominating Cast Members.

Recipients are surprised by the official announcement and presentation and their Family members and other important people in the recipient’s life are secretly invited too.

Each Walt Disney Legacy Award recipient receives a large framed plaque featuring Walt Disney, a blue Disney name tag, and a special celebration dinner for two at the big banquet in their honor.

Received the Blue Disney name tag (photo above) in 2013.
