Active rest to the rescue

Persian Gulf in Kuwait
Persian Gulf is outside our room, just past the pool.

Active rest to the rescue.

While i didn’t need to exercise formally yesterday, a Saturday, it was tempting to want to.

The lack of sleep and a busy event schedule was all i needed to let it go.

Looks good on paper

Seriously? Top floor of a college library. (Photo: yesterday afternoon on college campus)

Looks good on paper.

What?

Lead an active lifestyle.

What grade do you give yourself for being active, and by active, i mean childlike active.

Like, sitting around is torture punishment.

What grade?

Are you always on the move?

hidden mickey in a salad
Last night at The Big Easy. A hidden Mickey. Not really, but close. The ears shouldn’t touch each other.

Are you always on the move?

As we biked home through our neighborhood last night after dinner at The Big Easy, our neighbor said, “You’re always on the move.”

Apparently, being active is something of a positive blind spot.

i’ll consider it a good thing.

A rolling stone gathers no moss.

Are you waiting for something special to happen?

Glacier Park Boat Company
Yesterday…sitting on a moving boat gets you somewhere, but there is no cardio involved. Cardio is up to you when you disembark.

Are you waiting for something special to happen before you change from a sedentary lifestyle to an active lifestyle?

If not, then what are you waiting on.

If yes, what then?

In the neighborhood of a 1.5 mile walk each way

West Side Village near Magic Kingdom
Goodwill Donation Express.

West Side Village near Magic Kingdom
Swung in on the bike to have a closer look.

Nearly 28 years after purchasing the lot we live on, we are finally getting what will likely be businesses that will fill the gap between what was added five years ago – and prior to five years ago, there was nothing.

The only buildings with signs are Wendy’s, Goodwill, Great Clips (we already have two barber shops), and a Dental Practice (we also have two of those already as well).

There’s room for a couple dozen businesses.

Feels like Christmas morning is almost here.

The 40k round-trip bike ride yesterday helps me feel good about staying active.

Would you walk 1.5 miles to get a haircut or have your teeth cleaned?
