I wish you could understand the power in this little known health secret

The key to staying motivated is to put your most cherished loved ones ahead of yourself. The paradox is that this seems backwards, even hypocritical. It may look and feel self-indulgent to exercise and rest. But is it? Being a healthy role model for your children and grandchildren, or nieces and nephews – how is that selfish?

It’s probably the most important example you can strive to accomplish.

A customer came in the other day and asked why he hadn’t seen me at the gym recently. He then went on to mention he hadn’t seen me at the gym all year! So we talked. And without saying it, he helped me vocalize why I needed to be there.

Two words: Benjamin and Emily. And my wife. And people I serve at church. And at the store. And in my neighborhood. It snowballed. It was a humbling day.

David, this almost makes me want to cry. Not sad tears, happy ones. Why? Because your example validates what today’s message encourages.
