Where would you put your natural tendencies?
“I’m a quitter.’
Or.
“I never give up!”
Do you understand momentum? Do you really understand how it works?
Once you figure this out, your transformation will move forward, but not before then.
One foot in front of the other. Day after day. There is no other way.
Let’s review.
Quit.
Or.
Keep going.

While this passage serves as a warning against temptation, it sums up how I feel.
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” Matthew 26:41 (NIV)
Watch & pray.
Everyday. Without ceasing.
Trying not to be a quitter. Of course, if I never start then I can’t quit right?
That’s the devil rationalizing.
What do you want your children to think and do when they become adults, faced with a multitude of life’s challenges?
Fine. Bring them into the discussion . . . .
They may not always listen, but they are watching. That should be the best motivator.
David, that’s the perfect opening for a poem that my Dad sent to me when I became a dad.
Jeff included it in one of his posts last year – https://midlifecelebration.com/2009/05/04/little-eyes-are-watching-your-mid-life/
I finally did, a few months later – https://www.craignickoloff.com/2009/09/05/little-eyes/
Yes, they are ALWAYS watching. Even when we think they aren’t.
I find myself sharing stories (about why I work so hard) with Chapin weekly, because writing five daily blogs is a lobar of love, but it does require sacrifice on the home end.
Thanks for stopping in today. I enjoy your company.
…and the cats in the cradle and the silver spoon, little boy blue and the man in the moon…
“There is no try.
Do.
Or do not.”
– Yoda
May I amend Yoda’s thinking?
There is try.
There is no quitting.
Not quitting is doing.
All we can do is our best, even if we finish last.
And today I started doing.
My C25K program has begun.
Congratulations.
Try to do too much too soon. That way you’ll get hurt and give up quicker.
Or, the boring route would be slow and steady. Painfully slow and steady.
