The difference between exercise strategy and exercise tactics

Middle school classroom
Kids run everywhere, even in a classroom.

What do you look forward to on a daily basis?

Many think runners absolutely love to run. Yes, and…

Yes, and they do not feel like this everyday, nor are they exempt from all the time pressures everyone faces.

Finding our purpose for staying healthy is the foundational (intentional) strategy. The actual activity we choose is the tactic.

Tactics change if and when necessary. Strategy is timeless.

Same for cyclists. But looking ahead to when the schedule says No Cycling This Day makes the decision to go when time allows more important.

Today is a non cycle day. Saw it two days ago. Tomorrow looks good for a longer ride.

Patty, the gift in “active” rest is that it becomes guilt-free.
Rest is massively under rated.
Not rest as in sleep. Rest as in do not be actively engaged in your exercise of choice. The body craves a break in order to rebuild, refresh, revitalize.
Enjoy your well-earned ride tomorrow.
