Mental attitude and physical wellbeing are blood relatives.
Jogged yesterday morning. Tripped and fell hard on the sidewalk. Brush burn on hip, hurt left shoulder, ripped holes in both gloves (it was 45 degrees in Orlando), and smashed the new iPhone 5s.
Jason, the Terminix driver, shouted as I lie on the ground, ‘Are you okay?”
It took a few minutes, but the attitude went from:
- let’s sue for damages and neglect to…
- thank goodness this wasn’t a car accident and no ambulance/hospital is needed
When we are balanced, we detach from old, societal habits quickly.
The peace and joy we gain is beyond the ability to articulate.

Wow so glad you were okay. Running has risks, not unlike many thing a we do on a daily basis. Fell down the stairs on the morning of my wedding, and immediate thoughts were, “please don’t break anything”. Stay safe!
Glad your OK, old guy…lol.
I sort of did a similar thing a while back, but I was on a bike…..yes my iphone is a mess as well. But..it works, I just work around the crack on the glass. lol
Donna, thanks for your sentiments and for sharing your wedding day story. 🙂
Funniest thing is the pace was as slow as it gets – about as fast as a brisk walk. Go figure.
Paul, you should make sure Apple knows how much you love them and they would refuse to let you own a cracked phone. 🙂
PS. Nice to see you here. Did you buy that new book about balance?
