Happy Good Friday

Of the many blessings we have, being alive is at the top of my list.

Well, almost.

You mean being alive isn’t at the top of your list?

No, not at the very top.  It’s second, I think.

At the very top is the fact that Jesus died to save the world.  Whether you believe this or not, doesn’t change the fact that I believe it.

And, the fact that I believe it, doesn’t mean if you believe otherwise, that I think you are wrong.  Who the heck am I to judge someone else?  No one.

Being in a world where diversity of thought and belief, is valued and respected, is also at the top of my list.

Told you all of that to tell you this.   Today’s run was a blessing.  Literally pain free.  I believe God may want me to keep going on this impossible journey to make it to the finals at August’s World Championships.

Count your blessings.  Never give up.  Respect others.  Love your neighbor.  Do something great.  Inspire others by the courage of your own example.  Carpe diem, jeff 🙂

Excited about….

Excited about running tomorrow.  Meanwhile here’s Thursday’s update.

Didn’t run today, mostly because I had too much on my plate.

Started the day at Hanger Prosthetics, getting fitted for new custom orthotics and a new Night Splint.  That felt good to finally get that done.  Have had the prescriptions since January 5th.   Did I mention being busy?

I rationalized that I could use a day’s rest from running, but not the gym – core and strength workout.

Can’t wait for a five-miler tomorrow morning.  Carpe PM, good night, jeff 🙂

Wednesday – Still undecided

Ran the same three-mile loop as yesterday  But today with wool gloves and wool cap.  Seriously.

Central Floridians, especially me, are chilly anytime the temperature dips below 60 degrees.

The pain was very mild.  Can’t wait to try longer, easy run as well as a tempo run, to see if the pain is just hiding, and waiting for another chance to dampen my spirits.

Carpe PM.  Good night.  jeff  🙂

Terrific Tuesday?

Not quite.  But it was better than previous runs.

The key difference?

Minimal pain.  I ran three miles in about 27 minutes.  Nice and easy.

Tomorrow we’re expecting record cold temps.

My World Championships application for the USA World Team was accepted today.  Woo-hoo!

Happy Monday

Hey, I didn’t run today.  Had a big Keynote speech to deliver at 9:00AM to 1,200 Guests, and was at the venue before 7:00AM.   It was GREAT, by the way.

Each year, I’m blessed, a handful of times, to have impacted an audience so much so that they are compelled to stand and applaud.  Today was one of those days.  Wow!  Humbled.

Felt sickly afterwards, and decided that was nature’s way of telling me to, “Take the day off from working out, you need the rest”.

My left foot does not feel great.  Pain is better than three weeks ago, but not gone.  Patience.  Faith.  Trust.  Surrender.  Etc.  Plus, I have so much to be thankful for, I start to feel guilty with the dream of running with world-class Master’s athletes.

We’ll see how it goes in the morning.
