At what cost?

Dawn. No sunlight yet. Sunrise is coming though.

Then this look.

Soon after, sunrise.

Everything in my life is my doing. And the more i over-focus, the luckier i get. Same is true for anyone.

What costs are you committed to paying? Time, effort, money, sacrifice.

dad

My life changed for good when i turned 40.

But i probably got lucky the first two years of what has been a lifetime transformation (not a roller coaster ride up and down).

Why? How?

Why? Because the promise had been frequently promised, and eventually, always broken. But this time it wasn’t broken ever again.

How? After two years of the 1999 promise, i became a dad and had a new, compelling reason to make the promise last ‘forever’.

Nothing more important to me

Couple in the mountains
Since 1979, trust.

Nothing is more important to me than trust.

dad

Your biggest opportunity is to crush your self-nemesis. Most live life not trusting their integrity to do what’s healthiest for themselves. Make trusting yourself your greatest love story.

Where are you headed?

Book on a drain hole cover
The long way is the shortcut. Photo: Disney drain hole cover.

We’re constantly looking for shortcuts.

The insidious challenge is we have not given much thought to where we want to go.

LinkedIn note to self

Mountains
A few years ago, this became my favorite trail.

You may regret going after impossible goals. You may not. But i guarantee you will 100% regret wondering, “what if?”

dad

Posted this quote on LinkedIn yesterday.

Why?

While doing yard work all day yesterday, the insight presented itself.

Needed to write it down somewhere to “save it”.

LinkedIn happened to be the creative place to write it down.

And here it is the next day in this post.

You can’t never

Woman laying mulch
Not trying to save money by doing it ourselves.

Be yourself, not a version of you that you think you’re supposed to be.

dad

You can’t (caint) never know how much i don’t care what others think.

Never be an idiot, but don’t worry about offending people who have no relevance in your life.

Ps This is an evolutionary process. For most of my life (maybe 50-55 years) i cared.

Them days is over.

i wish this for you and that it happens sooner for you.
