Taken away

Taken away during yesterday’s 90-minute therapeutic massage.

First, there were no hot spots, no pain points.

Deep tissue massage with no sensitive areas.

Pain free is a first.

Without worry of pain, relaxation at a heightened level ensued.

Take the physical victory as a gift.

Perhaps temporary.

Perhaps not.

Like the World Championships

Like the World Championships?

The 2009 Masters Track and Field World Championships was something big that went down.

But i never saw that coming until there was a tipping point.

At the tipping point it was no longer if, but when.

To give anything less

back side of a t-shirt being worn by a man in a gym
Dear self, please do not sacrifice the gift.

Steve Prefontaine is an American distance running legend.

Pre is the only athlete Nike has immortalized with a bronze statue.

Pre’s quoted on the back of my t-shirt above:

To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift.

Steve Prefontaine

Did i mention something big is going down?

Slow and steady wins

bicycling next to mountain creek
The Garden Wall. McDonald Creek. Going-to-the-Sun Road. No vehicular traffic. Heaven.

Slow and steady wins.

In everything, pace yourself.

Why?

Ensure any failure or setback is minor.

Minor is easier to recover from.

Costly mistakes tempt you to quit.
