Heck yeah I’m tired

Heck yeah I’m tired. Ran two miles in the dark this morning. Taught at Disney all day – burning the candle at both ends.

At least I ran. At least the client’s (President of North American division of multi-billion dollar global company) expectations were exceeded. At least I’m in bed early. And at least the brand promise didn’t get snuffed out (if I finish the other three blog posts after this one)…

Top five things I’ve ever done?

PCH
been on PCH with Cheryl, for work, with Jesus, but not with Chapin (not yet)

Becoming healthy as a lifestyle – rather than as a need – is probably the best thing I’ve ever done, right after these four other chronological milestones:

  1. marrying Cheryl
  2. choosing Disney for a career
  3. becoming a Dad
  4. loving Jesus more than anything

Supplement your happiness with LSD?

(look past diary-like entries, and ask why does he keep saying and doing these things?)

Supplement our happiness with LSD? Yes, Long Slow Distance. After missing five running days (two planned, three unplanned), got a five-miler in this morning.

Long, slow, distance. Nice and easy. A good 45 minutes of continuous running. The focus is:

  • not quitting
  • building strong cardiovascular base
  • maintaining core strength
  • getting back to 15 minutes daily stretching each evening
  • running some really good times this Spring and Summer

As if Baby Boomers need a reminder for this physical BFO – blinding flash of the obvious:

Use it or lose it.

Our body houses everything that keeps us alive. It thrives on exercise, good food, and rest.

Only ran two days in the past seven. Grueling holiday schedule. Everyone has the same list of excuses.

One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted to do. Do it now. – Paulo Coelho
