Love how challenging life is and few people know

New floors create friction to everyday life (as does a hernia)

Love how challenging life is and how very few of our friends and acquaintances know the obstacles we are facing.

All of us have a pile of struggles (opportunities) (blessings) that are virtually invisible to others.

But guaranteed. We all have them. Plenty of them.

Often, more than we feel can handle.

Note to self, do not (ever, ever) feel these are reasons to quit exercising.

Running was an obscure application of world class business insights

jeff noel's health blog
If your goal isn’t impossible, you’re not reaching high enough.

Running was an obscure application to test common sense world class business insights.

Through 14 years of speaking full time, I’ve spoken to a million people and believe it or not, a huge confidence booster to becoming a better speaker was that obscure experiment.

In looking for an unlikely, and random, place to test world class business philosophies, I picked running.

In ten short years – from not being able to run at all, to representing the USA at the 2009 Masters Track & Field World championships.

True story.

Does a hernia on the eve of a 54th birthday cancel the 2013 comeback?

Ten days ago the runner suffered an inguinal hernia while working.

Masters Track & Field Nationals are in 25 days.

This morning’s 5:50 mile felt good.

Dropping down to the 800.

Attendance depends on surgery date.

Impossible is for amateurs.

Stay motivated.

Normal is expensive, the jeff noel insight

Army Warrior Ethos
world-class status begets world-class status

Normal is expensive is another in a very long list of brilliant Hugh MacLeod – Gaping Void posts – business insights.

Let’s look at people who don’t exercise, eat decently, nor rest adequately.

It’s normal isn’t it?

Majority of Americans fit this description.

So my take is yes, normal is indeed expensive.

Different strokes (insights) for different folks.

PS. Seth Godin, Hugh MacLeod, and Brian Clark are the three thought-leaders I have the utmost respect for. And if they ever watched a Masters Track & Field meet and experienced my 54-year old art, perhaps there’d be a kindred spirit (if there isn’t already).
