Life is hard. Have personally overcome obesity and nearly everyone would never believe it because it was so long ago and now it appears as if I have nothing to worry about (which is garbage).

Learning how to stay healthy for a lifetime makes sense on every imaginable level.

Doing it, however, creates powerful excuses that have almost infinite possibilities.

We know this and have a personal obligation to use this knowledge to figure out how best to conquer the relentless temptations to take the low road.

Not making this up. The focus and discipline it takes to understand pace is astonishing.

 

Fastest post (July) surgery mile run so far. Didn’t particularly feel like running at a higher level, but after a mile warmup and some light stretching, decided to push a little – nothing ambitious.

Quickly realized that not exercising for the past three days provided the gift of a well-rested body. Within 30 seconds a notion – let’s shoot for a 6:20 mile.

Some of you know this if you’ve worked hard enough and long enough – you can get really good at delivering on what you say you’re gonna do.

How reliable are we at taking the pills our doctor prescribes? Mostly, we are incredibly successful.

Has anyone’s doctor ever prescribed a sensible diet and regular exercise. Mostly. Right?

Far too many of us fail the minute we leave the office.

How is this possible?

The need to get to the gym felt compelling, yet awkward.

It’s been six days since the last gym visit, and an International trip in three days is looming.

Bottom line: doctor’s orders.
