Pick up the pace when you’re hungry to show you love life

staying healthy

to them, I’m Uncle jeff, and hopefully, an example of how to stay healthy for a lifetime

Pick up the pace when you’re hungry to show you love life.

Live like you mean it. Life is not a dress rehearsal.

When was the last time we exercised?

Was it yesterday? Was it 30 years ago?

This month jeff noel is encouraging Mid Life Celebration readers to follow all five daily blogs about work life balance. It’s a breeze to go from this physical health blog to the spiritual health blog, just click -> go to Next Blog

Find A Million Ways To Stay Motivated...

Did any of you pick up on the subtle message?

How do we give 100% day in and day out?

Doing the same thing over and over and over.

Whether it’s cleaning teeth, working at the call center, writing five daily blogs, or focusing on our health and wellness goals, how do we ensure we never go through the motions?

What Motivates You?

A New Day Is Dawning

A New Day Is Dawning

Motivation is fascinating, don’t you think?  It’s like a fire, isn’t it? We must continue to add fuel to a fire to keep it burning.

It seems that we have a daily (if not hourly) choice to stay focused on what keeps our fire alive.

Are there more than three version of this?

  1. Let the fire go out
  2. Add just enough to keep the fire from going out
  3. Keep the fire raging

Winter Olympics 2010

Passion Is Beauty

Passion Is Beauty

What is it about the Olympics that stirs our soul and lifts our spirit?

Perhaps it the same as admiring a priceless work of art, or a magnificently built cathedral, or listening to a brilliantly written and performed song, or dining on a meal prepared by the finest chefs.

It could even be tonight’s sunset, or tomorrow’s sunrise.

Whatever it is, I believe it is critical to harness this passion.

This is passion for “art”, in all it’s forms.  This passion is what stirs our souls and lifts our spirits.

And whatever it is, we must find it, grab tight, and never let go.

The time for letting will eventually come, and hopefully, we will be ready.

Lane 8 Flashback

It’s 5AM, November 17, 2009 here in Orlando, Florida. I write five blogs every single day. Adidas has a tag line, “Impossible is Nothing“!

Nike has one too, “I’ve Got Soul“.  It’s even a You Tube video.  It’s what I’m I’m craving right now – a little soul.

That video, even though it’s only 63 seconds, never fails to inspire me. How many days, and how many ways, do you inspire yourself before you ever walk out your front door?

Seriously, how many?  Hey, you don’t owe me an answer. You’ll never owe me anything. But I challenge you to challenge yourself and ask, “What do I owe myself?

Who’s more passionate?

Who’s more passionate about your health than you?

In case you haven’t noticed, the answer is no one is more passionate about your health than you are.

If this comes as a surprise to you, please hang up and dial 911.

Hey, I’m joking. Sort of.

The emergency you may have, like I did, was a wake-up call from a routine blood test from my 1999 annual physical.

My “good” cholesterol was dangerously low. It was lower than the lowest acceptable level. This got my attention. It got my mid-life attention because it was something I never, ever thought would be an issue.

Guess again.

So I decided to be the most passionate person I know about my own health. This had made an enormous difference. Like night and day. My HDL is now consistently 56 – 60.

I’m still struggling with my overall cholesterol, but am currently maintaining 190 – 210.

I ran a nice and easy five miles this morning. Worked out at the gym yesterday – to strengthen my core, and then parked at my Church and ran four miles on Apopka-Vineland Road, near Conroy-Windermere Road. It’s decently hilly.

As the Mastercard commercial saying goes, “What’s in your wallet?”

Translated, it means, what did you do today or yesterday to prove you are the most passionate person about your health, on this planet?

Make it a GREAT day, because if you don’t, who will?

Carpe diem, jeff
