Floss this

Last night, watching the CMA’s.

Floss this.

What?

Read snarky into it. Yes, i’m being snarky in an effort to crack a smile while addressing a reality – no one gets giddy at the end of every day thinking about how they “can’t wait” to spend 5-10 minutes flossing.

Flossing is one of the last things done each day.

Tired of it.

And then i think how blessed i am to have teeth to fuss over.

Flossing is still a thing only i can do.

Is your reason 100% valid?

Every. Darn. Day. This screenshot was captured yesterday from my dentist’s Facebook page.

Do you floss every day?

Is your reason 100% valid?

Seriously, is it?

Greater as a whole

Adventist Health System
A wall for selfies to use on social media.

We are greater as a whole at work.

We are greater as a whole with mind, body, spirit, money, and hq.

We are greater as a whole when we floss as well as brush.

Yes, some nights i have to muster an extra-ordinary motivation (because the tank is on empty) to floss.

What’s my secret?

How gross it feels to allow garbage (decaying food particles) in my mouth overnight. And how scary it is to know that skipping one night makes skipping a second night far too easy.

Flossing is probably the last thing i want to do

The contrast is striking. Transfer the contrast to flossing nightly to never flossing.

Flossing is probably the last thing i want to do.

Flossing before bed can be the last thing i have the energy to do.

But i do it anyway.

Everyone knows flossing is the key for fighting gum disease.

Gum disease impacts our entire body in insidious ways.

Three or four minutes before bedtime.

Congratulations for understanding this and acting on it.

What a wonderful health habit.

Did you floss last night before bedtime?

Last night’s dinner. Can you imagine not flossing after dinner, for a lifetime?

Did you floss last night before bedtime?

What if you did?

PS, Yes, i know it takes time and effort, and at the end of a long day, we’d rather skip the time and effort required.
