Post Op Day 6, body

26-second video: Unbelievable.

Like i always say, find a million ways to stay motivated.

dad

You make the first month-long commitment to not exercise. It stings on every level: mind, body, spirit, work, home.

You see light at the end of the tunnel.

Then darkness.

A new commitment is expected, demanded.

And, this second commitment is double the previous.

Can you imagine?

Six days into the second two months long commitment and i’m challenged in a first-ever way.

58-second video: Shooting this from WordPress admin dashboard. Predicted the bouncy-ness.

Determining how much is too much and how much is not enough is a challenge. Embrace it and have fun.

21-second video: Yesterday’s pole vault final…20’ 5.5”. New world record.

Humans are motivated by doing the impossible.

dad

Physical editing…

Let me just say that 20’ 5.5” seemed possible today.

i remember when 18’ seemed impossible.

All these years later to be floating 2.5 feet above impossible is literally inconceivable.

i like this.

Very much.

Note: Eye surgery, successful eye surgery, was inconceivable when i was a child.

19-second video: Diamond League meet at Hayward Field. The Prefontaine Classic was moved from late May to mid-September to bring the Diamond League Championship meet to USA for the first time ever.

When you think life isn’t treating you fairly, exploit the invisible opportunity.

Have gone a month without exercising.

Have always said 10 days is the abstinence threshold without having to start over with weight, reps, distance, or pace.

Well here we are, a month since the last “workout”.

And to challenge everything, there is at least another month of no exercising.

From less than two weeks to at least two months minimum.

This is a once in a lifetime “exercise reboot”.

Power down.

Hard reboot.

Uncharted territory.

Dark side of the moon.

Optimistic this is an opportunity of a lifetime.

Is sight our most stimulating and important sense?

Movement, rest, and nutrition is an invisible 401k plan.

dad

Doctor Kumar said yesterday i can walk. So i asked if i could slowly walk for hours if i kept my heart rate under 65bpm.

He suggested less than an hour of daily walking.

The high achiever in me didn’t do any walking yesterday, to far exceed the limit of “under an hour”.

An hour ago i walked barefoot around our house in the dew-soaked grass. To be clear, not the yard perimeter, just the house. Maybe 100 meters total.

There’s some buzz about being “grounded” to Earth. Shoes, floors, sidewalks, roads, all of it…separates the human vibrations from our planet’s vibrations.

Experimenting with some free natural energy.
