Encourage Everyone To Be Active

Encourage Everyone To Be Active

Skip Gaskill, our returning Guest Blogger, offers insight and encouragement. Skip’s challenging you to do the same. Take it away Skip:

Have you ever seen an obese person out jogging or walking in an unquestionable attempt to get control of their health?

If you did what did you do?  Did you say anything?  Did you smirk or make a fat joke?

Or did you go out of your way to encourage them to keep up the fight?

Next time you see someone like this (hopefully while you are out exercising as well) tell them the following:

Congratulations!  You’re doing great!  Keep up the good fight and never quit!

You might buy them another quarter mile or uplift their spirit enough to help them finish what they started.

Who knows…you might even feel better about yourself.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter

If you don’t celebrate Easter, may I please wish you Joy in whatever makes you happy.  Diversity is what makes the world so special.  Thank you for respecting my beliefs as much as I respect yours.

Today is a day of rest, from training, and hopefully, from working.

Carpe diem.  Dream big, get there and most importantly of all, stay there.  That’s the ticket.  Staying at your goal.  jeff  :)

Happy Good Friday

Of the many blessings we have, being alive is at the top of my list.

Well, almost.

You mean being alive isn’t at the top of your list?

No, not at the very top.  It’s second, I think.

At the very top is the fact that Jesus died to save the world.  Whether you believe this or not, doesn’t change the fact that I believe it.

And, the fact that I believe it, doesn’t mean if you believe otherwise, that I think you are wrong.  Who the heck am I to judge someone else?  No one.

Being in a world where diversity of thought and belief, is valued and respected, is also at the top of my list.

Told you all of that to tell you this.   Today’s run was a blessing.  Literally pain free.  I believe God may want me to keep going on this impossible journey to make it to the finals at August’s World Championships.

Count your blessings.  Never give up.  Respect others.  Love your neighbor.  Do something great.  Inspire others by the courage of your own example.  Carpe diem, jeff :)
