Twelve weeks in, holding at 8 mailboxes.

Two laps around a high school track.

After three months.

Traditional metrics have us as failures.

What do you mean you’re only jogging for two laps?

Listen up mister, the real metric you should be celebrating is we are showing up for our 12th consecutive week – at 5:15AM and 6:15AM.

Lake McDonald Boat House
From two months ago while in Glacier National Park. No sugar.

 

Less than a month ago i weighed 156.5.

This morning it’s 161.5.

Those 12 days in Pennsylvania had my sugar intake spiral out of control.

This has been an on-going challenge now for nearly a month.

The results speak for themselves.

i am in desperate need of a motivating goal.

Each day i “promise” to stop, i find a creative and innocent “reason” to wait until tomorrow to begin in earnest.

PS. i hate sugar.

How many social media reps do we get in each day? One rep for each time we check FB.

How is our social media blood pressure? How do we feel as we try to keep up? How do we feel if no one likes or comments on something of ours? How do we feel when someone says something we oppose, dislike, despise, even hate?

How do we feel when we get friend requests from someone we barely know?

How do we feel when someone we send a friend request to never accepts?

How do we feel on a busy day when we get unimportant notifications from a comment thread?

How do we feel (fill in the blank, because we could go on and on) ________?

Dear Son, last night, October 13 (2015), i challenged you to do one pushup a day for a week.

PS. And it’s ok to do a modified version with your knees on the floor.

Even though you do not have a full-time job, you can afford this.
