Lorie,

I feel the same way about going to a gym. I swim, ride my bike and power walk. A lot. Matter of fact, I'm competing in a triathlon next week. I've tried gyms, they don't work for me.

I also think your post should be e-mailed to every fashion magazine and clothing designer on the planet.

We have an employee wellness program at work. Every year we have to take a "health risk assessment" online. I hate it. The first year we had a "councilor" go over the report with us, confidentially of course. This person, who hadn't even met me before read over my report, most of which was numbers, and declared "except for your weight, you're in great shape healthwise." My reply? "Gee, I guess that I don't need that total hysterectomy my doctor just told me I had to have ASAP." The councilor didn't have anything else to say to me.

I just recently took my online risk assessment the year. I was told I'm way over my "ideal weight" and that I should "include more physical activity in my lifestyle." I think I might have been my "ideal" weight when I was 12.

Have I mentioned I'm competing in a triathlon next week? Have I mentioned I'm wearing a wetsuit that I wore 12 years ago when I was much lighter but much flabbier, and which I grew out of?

Moral of the story? Our Human Resources Manager doesn't bother to ask me what I think of the survey. :)

Sally

PS, I really did need the hysterectomy.
