The toughest part is the part we all are painfully aware of

Restaurant wall photo of Donkey pulling cart

It’s almost always something we never see coming that puts a wrench in our plans

The year end non-stop push to catch up can really take a toll. We all know and feel this, right? Or was I the only one this morning cutting their run in half because of something unexpected?

The point is we all have to figure things out.

And the toughest part is not giving in when the pressure is the greatest.

A short run is better than caving and not running at all.

Heck yeah I’m tired

inspiring signage at LAX

my classroom job is to have C-suite folks rethink, and reimagine

Heck yeah I’m tired. Ran two miles in the dark this morning. Taught at Disney all day – burning the candle at both ends.

At least I ran. At least the client’s (President of North American division of multi-billion dollar global company) expectations were exceeded. At least I’m in bed early. And at least the brand promise didn’t get snuffed out (if I finish the other three blog posts after this one)…

One bonus secret on being relentless

being relentless is a super power, producing super heroes

One bonus secret on being relentless… the long way is the short cut.

Don’t worry how long it takes, the time will pass by anyway.

What to do when your exercise routine falters

Read the fifth line from the top… (impossibly high expectations)…

impossible goals

what if the news was only good news?

What to do when our exercise routine falters? Do whatever it takes to stop the leak. And worst case, if we can’t stop the leak (absence from exercise), “plug the hole” with whatever’s available (maybe a quick walk) as soon as possible.

Which Facebook photos make us the saddest?

desperation hides in the shadows, mostly undetected

desperation hides in the shadows, mostly undetected

Skimming Facebook, weirdly saddened by the photos. America is the only country in the world where people are searching for inner peace.

In third-world countries, people are searching for food.

When Americans let their health go it’s, well, sad.

There’s a hunger, a desperation, in the photos on my page that is hard to tell apart from starving children.

Yeah, that’s nebulous, but after some deep, reflective thought, the concept starts to appear.

You see, the only difference is the end goal, the desperation is the same. No?

Run Forrest, run

Make what seems impossible, possible

Make what seems impossible, possible

Forrest Gump was a 1994 classic film about a special boy. He had no idea what he could not do. Because he lacked this knowledge, he proceed to do stuff he didn’t know he was not supposed to be able to do.

Makes me think about staying motivated and active – to remain healthy – for a lifetime. Impossible, no?

Great intentions to exercise, but…

Great intentions to go see The Odd Life of Timothy Green this weekend… it came out in theaters yesterday, August 15…

Inspiring Disney Movies

No, there was no run yesterday even though there was time. Morning chores conflicted. Great intentions. Greater need to work. And so it goes. Relentless. Unstoppable. Figure it out or crumble under the pressure.

Remember these four lines from a great Olympic Games commercial

Who needs an Olympic medal? Can we get the same feeling of accomplishment by doing “our impossible”?

what you need

Remember these four lines from a great Olympic Games commercial:

  • Take a day off, I don’t even take a morning off
  • I haven’t had desert in two years
  • You know that best-selling book, I haven’t read it
  • I haven’t watched TV since, well, since last summer

What’s your impossible? What’s stopping you? Nothing! Right?

Congratulations to the most decorated Olympic athlete ever

Lo Lo Jones

What's your impossible

Congratulations to the most decorated Olympic athlete ever. Last night Michael Phelps did it. He earned his 19th Olympic medal. More than any athlete, any sport, male or female.

What’s your impossible? Whatever it is, keep moving forward. You can do it. You can! Period. But only if you don’t stop.

Top three reasons why ridiculous goals are the only choice we have

He’s watching me because he’s being watched, and photographed…

smoking while pregnant

The mom-to-be is also smoking…

smoking while pregnant

Top three reasons why ridiculous goals are the only choice we have:

  1. It has to be so crazy, we can not dismiss it no matter what
  2. It has to be something everyone actually dreams of
  3. It has to be considered unattainable

Note: Is it ridiculous to think some day no one will smoke? Or at least no pregnant women?
