Dear Son, promise to never be intimidated by someone else’s success

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

Years of hard work paid off for your Cousin (top right) and her team

Dear Son, promise to never be intimidated by someone else’s success.

The fact that I ran a routine sub-six minute mile at age 53, without killing myself this morning… this is the sort of thing that happens when you just keep moving forward.

No quitting. No excuses. A clear goal (to be your health role model). And finding a million ways to stay motivated.

Dear readers, same for all of us. Everybody cool with that?

We’ve covered mental and physical, now scoot over to emotional (spiritual), click go.

The lesson from yesterday’s post is awareness through focus and discipline

Know your healthy zone (weight, blood pressure, etc), and fight tooth and nail to stay in that range

The lesson from yesterday’s post is awareness through focus and discipline. A message easy to hate.

Dear Son, Im nearly 10% overweight

photo of Be Our Guest Restaurant entrance at night

the weight of the world on our shoulders – no one is immune

Dear Son, Im nearly 10% overweight. Ideal, thriving weight is 151. This morning 164.5.

Been hovering between 157 – 162 for the past year.

Weirdly, I can tell a sudden two pound weight gain simply from the way I feel. It’s similar to the way I set out (yesterday) to run a six-minute mile, at the 800 meter split, 3:03. The second 800, 2:57. You do the math. Freaky.

Dear Son, How Do You Think Your Dad Became The Internet’s Only Five-A-Day Blogger?

No, this story doesn't stink...

...but these pigeons do.

Dear Son, how do you think your Dad became the Internet’s Only Five-A-Day Blogger? I applied Walt Disney’s philosophy of making common sense, common practice. It’s a long story, but it doesn’t need to be.

Dear Son, You Do Remember How I Became A World Class Master’s Athlete, Right?

Go Son, go!

You become great at anything...one race at a time.

Dear Son, you do remember how your Dad became a world class Master’s athlete, right? I applied everything I learned at Disney. Whether it’s running a company or running 400 meters. Both can be done in a world class manner, if you are willing to apply common sense.

Dear Son, Walt Disney Said If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...

Turning the corner and no looking back...

Wow, look at that boy go!

I'm doing it, and it feels GREAT!

Ta-Da!!!! Success.

Dear Son, Walt Disney said, “If you can dream it, you can do it”. As you know, your Dad has studied Walt all his life and worked for Walt for 3/5th’s of it. I have been teaching you everything I know, and as you get older, the lessons will become more profound.

Like Our Physical Muscles, Our Imagination Muscles Need Regular Exercise

And let's not forget to exercise our spirit too.

Dear Son, an object in motion tends to stay in motion. Our bodies, our spirit, our imagination and so on. Constantly dream about a future state where you are amazingly healthy, fit, happy, self-confident.

Visualizing The Future Is An Innate Skill Humans Started Using As Toddlers

Thinking and plotting against alien invaders.

Ready to spring into action...the dynamic duo.

Dear Son, every child is blessed with a vivid and powerful imagination. And daydreaming comes naturally with young children. At a moment’s notice, we can fly – if it will help us avoid an alien encounter, or a dragon attack. This is God’s way of equipping us for survival as adults.

Use visualization creativity to help you stay well.
